Share Him Evangelistic Campaign 2009

In response to the gospel commission of Matthew 28:18 the “Share Him Ministries”  (formerly Global Evangelism) in collaboration with the “Quiet Hour Ministries” as part of their international campaign launched an evangelistic series across East Jamaica Conference of Seventh-day Adventist.

These campaigns are for people, mainly laymen, from economically developed countries to go and get inspired in parts of the world where the message is spreading fast, by preaching for a two-week series of meeting. Share Him provides all the tools required with the ultimate goal being to empower and mobilize laymen and women to be active in a lifestyle of evangelism.

All of the materials are provided, and through daily mentoring, the volunteer evangelist is given help to know just what to say. In addition, ShareHim provides a one-day orientation for all the speakers and their support-team members just prior to the opening of the campaign.

Several thousands of people have done a ShareHim international campaign and every year about a thousand campaigns are organized by ShareHim around the world, mainly in Africa, India, the Philippines, and Central America. Many of these campaigns are done by students from Adventist colleges and universities in North America and Europe.

At the Shortwood Church we have been assigned Miss Akousa Opoku-Boateng as speaker and Miss Betty Kelley as support team member.

After the necessary field and church preparation the program began as scheduled on Friday November 6 at 7:00 pm. It has since gathered momentum as the vibrant young speaker connects with her audience. Miss Betty Kelly the other team member has been giving health presentations and connecting with the children.

The membership is enthusiastic about the program and already a baptism is planned for Sabbath November 14, 2009 and another scheduled for Sabbath the 21stwhen the series concludes.
